Have you ever wondered how many soulmates can you have? There is a very limited number of people in the world who could be your soulmate. You are not limited to one person.

There are billions of people on this planet and you may only be compatible with a small percentage of them. In fact, it has been estimated that there are around 8 billion people in the world as of 2021 and if we assume that 1% of these are your soulmates, then you still have 800 million potential mates out there.

And As per United Nations, the population is expected to grow to around 8.5 billion in 2030, 9.7 billion in 2050, and 10.9 billion in 2100. So, imagine how many potential soulmates one can have within the coming century.

It’s possible to have multiple soulmates. Because not everyone in the world is looking for a soulmate itself to begin with.

In fact most of them don’t believe in such. A 2010-11 poll from Martist Research in the U.S found that nearly 3 out of 4 residents – 73% – do believe in soulmates, but 27% do not.

Although the percentage of people who believe in soulmates is high, not everyone has the patience, luck and efforts to find their respective soulmates.

Multiple soulmates theory definition: It is the belief that one person can have more than one true love or soulmate in a lifetime and that these soulmates will cross each other’s paths at some point in their life or throughout their multiple incarnations.

The idea behind this theory is that everyone has a specific role to play in someone else’s life, even if they are not aware of it themselves.

It is impossible for a person to not have multiple soulmates who are supposed to enter and leave their life at different times.

Multiple soulmates theory from Books and literature

The concept of soul mates is maybe the most significant subject that runs throughout history and literature.

Recently I read a fictional novel written by Paulo Coelho called “Brida.” Brida is a novel that deals with the search for life and soulmate. It is the central theme of the whole story.

The author highlights that it is possible to find more than one soul mate in life, with each person striking a particular chord with a person’s soul, as it was with Brida.

The key characters in the story are Brida, Magus of Folk (teacher of the tradition of the sun and is also Brida’s soul mate), Wicca (her teacher in the tradition of the moon)

In her eagerness to learn more about Soulmates, Brida had a flurry of questions to her teacher Wicca.

So, she continued, “How will I know who my Soulmate is?

Brida believed that this was the most important question she had ever asked in her life. To her question, the teacher responds “By taking risks, risking failure, disappointment, disillusionment, but never letting go until you find your Soulmate. As long as you don’t give up, you will be successful in the end”.

As Brida asks, can you have more than one Soulmate in a lifetime? Then Wicca answers. Yes, it is possible. In fact, it is possible to meet three soulmates, because we are many and we are scattered. “The essence of creation is one and one alone’ and that essence is called Love.”

Love is the force that binds us back together and unites the experience separated throughout many lives and areas of the world.

Our lives are mysteriously connected with our Soulmates. If they suffer, subconsciously we feel a portion of their pain. The Soulmate is destined to cross our path, at least once in every incarnation, even if it is for a brief period.

The moments bring with them a love so intense, that it justifies the rest of our days.

Wicca also reveals an interesting fact that most of the believers would deny. She says that it may so happen that “we can also allow our Soulmate to pass us by, without accepting him or her, or even noticing.

Then we will take another incarnation in order to find that Soulmate. And because of our  selfishness we will be condemned to the worst torture humankind ever invented for itself: loneliness.”

The concept of a soulmate was elegantly and in-depth described in the book Brida, which also offers insight into the idea that soulmates do exist and how to identify one’s soulmate throughout the course of a lifetime.

It supports the idea that love endures across time. It is a remarkable story that describes how each of us has a Soulmate who we have loved in previous lives and who is eager to reconcile with us right now.

The soul meets with warmth and wisdom, investigates the spiritual side of relationships, and discovers a new key and true love.

Final thoughts:

I hope now you have some clarity about soulmates and how many soulmates you can have in a lifetime.

Either if you’ve never met your soulmate or lost your soulmate and don’t know where to start looking, try surrounding yourself with like-minded individuals who share similar values as you do.

If you get married, don’t forget to give yourself permission to find another partner if necessary. Allow yourself to grow without feeling guilty about exploring other possibilities.

Every relationship is different and every individual needs different things to feel fulfilled.

Some people are fortunate enough to meet their one and only soulmate in their life without any hardships and their relationship might work well till the end.

While others might have to face a series of conflicts even after meeting and marrying multiple partners still, it’s possible that they never found their potential soulmate or life partner.

Ultimately, what matters is that whether you are single, never met your soulmate; or in a relationship with a wrong person and want to marry someone who is your destined soulmate, listen to your intuition and do what is best for you regardless of what anyone else says.

Life is too short and precious to live according to somebody else’s expectation. When you follow your heart, you’ll lead a happier and meaningful life. Good luck!
